European Trip - Part 2

Okay, the Louvre is astonoshing, to say the least! First of all, it's a huge palace with amazing architecture, and second, it's filled to the brim with millions of amazing art pieces dating clear back to 400 B.C. It's very overstimulating and awe inspiring. We were totally blown away!
Today we climbed to the top of the Notre Dame Cathedral...wow, what a view! The gargoyles look really cool close up, some are even eating things like grapes and other animals. The bell is huge and the passageways are narrow. Then there is the inside of the cathedral, wow, I can't even describe how grand it is! It took 170 years to build and was completed in 1330 A.D. The rose windows are the most splendid and the resounding organ music sealed the memory into our minds and hearts.
We then went underground to see some of the original Paris in the Crypt Archeologie. Right under the ground, next to the Notre Dame, are the ancient remains of the city, wherein a coin was found that was dated 282 A.D., very cool!
We also visited the St. Chapelle cathedral today. There were 15 sections of stained glass work each telling a different book or part of the bible, truly amazing. We have been thoroughly edified and enriched these past few days, and the french croissants and intensely flavored sorbets just make it even better!
